About the role

Turun AKK’s technical program is growing and we are now seeking a Welding Instructor. In the role you will teach basic, vocational and specialist qualifications in machine- and production-technology, guide students in learning environments and at workplaces, design, implement and assess teaching in line with vocational education principles, and build individual study paths for students. You will cooperate closely with industry and act as a customer-facing contact, strengthening Turun AKK’s network. You will become part of Turun AKK’s machine- and production-technology team, working together flexibly to utilize everyone’s skills. The applicant must have a suitable degree in machine- and production-technology (e.g., specialist vocational qualification in production technology or degree as a machine- and production-engineering engineer) and strong practical experience and industry know-how. A good command of theory in the field is also appreciated. The role requires a willingness to teach in English and good digital skills as teaching uses diverse digital learning environments and information systems. Pedagogical qualifications and prior teaching experience are not prerequisites since teacher pedagogy can be completed while on the job; however, pedagogical competence and teaching experience are considered beneficial. In addition, International welding inspector (IWS) training is an advantage. We also value: willingness to guide, teach and motivate diverse learners; industry networks; strong customer-service attitude; good collaboration and teamwork skills; ability to organize own work and manage large entities; readiness to develop teaching and utilise digital tools.
