The Sustainment Solutions business area is responsible, among other things, for the sales, offering and delivery of lifecycle support and software products. It is also responsible for the strategic partnership with the Finnish Defence Forces and Patria's authority business. We are now looking for a Software Architect in Tampere for the AI-WASP development project related to unmanned systems. The AI-WASP programme is developing a new-generation scalable, cognitive—that is, AI-driven—multipurpose and software-defined combined antenna and transceiver system. In this role, you will design and lead the development of the control-system architecture. You will communicate with various internal stakeholders as well as external partners. Our development work most commonly uses C++ or Rust, and we work in a Linux development environment. What kind of professional are we looking for? You are willing and able to design large-scale systems. You have a programming background and previous experience designing software architecture. You know C-family languages and have worked on data-centric projects close to hardware, for example with embedded components. A background in developing automation systems or vehicle systems is a good fit for the role. The selected person must have: Broad expertise in software engineering, especially in embedded environments Knowledge of telecommunications protocols The ability to design software systems in a way that enables scalability and modularity The skills to participate in and guide system implementation The willingness and ability to work collaboratively in an international environment Fluent spoken and written Finnish and English, for example for technical documentation It is also an advantage if you have: Experience programming in Rust Knowledge of web technologies, such as HTTP protocols Experience with IoT projects What we offer At Patria, you can do things you would not even get to see elsewhere.
