JOBS OFFERED AS PERSONAL ASSISTANTS We are now looking for new personal assistants for our clients for important but flexible assistance work. The job is paid under private social services collective agreement and is suitable for those seeking full-time, part-time, casual, or gig work. As a personal assistant you decide how much and when you work, so the job suits also another job or studies. You do not need special education for the role; the right attitude and reliability are the most important traits. We provide continuous support and guidance from your own supervisor, and you will never be left alone with tasks and questions. What is a personal assistant and what does an assistant do? Personal assistance is a service where the personal assistant acts as the customer’s hands and feet to perform tasks the customer would do themselves, but cannot do alone due to a disability or illness. The aim is to support everyday tasks, both at home and outside. Tasks are often ordinary daily chores that we all perform in our own lives. The work does not include tasks requiring a separate LPN education; anyone can be an assistant. Tasks include helping the customer in stores, outdoors, with meals or cooking, dressing, hobbies, or housekeeping. What kind of person fits as a assistant? We have found that the best personal assistants are those with the right attitude toward helping work. The assistant should be reliable, positive, helpful, diligent, and people-oriented. You do not need prior relevant work experience; every new assistant is trained in Aarre Avustajat’s own Aarre Academy before starting. Experience or education in caregiving can be beneficial for some clients. What kind of shifts are offered and can I influence them? Personal assistance happens both on weekdays and weekends, with shifts often available from morning to evening. You can influence how much and when you work and for what client. We try to match client needs with assistant preferences so it suits everyone. You will always meet a potential new client before starting the relationship, and if something does not work as you expected, we can look for a suitable option together. You can work as a personal assistant for as many clients as you want.
