Communications Specialist

A new temporary position has been announced for a Specialist in Communications Affairs at the Sámediggi (Sámi Parliament). The role involves handling, planning and developing matters related to the Parliament’s communications, implementing the Sámediggi’s communications strategy, assisting the President and staff in information activities, and acting as a preparer and presenter on matters within the field to the Sámedijust (Parliament’s bodies). The appointment is a fixed-term contract beginning as agreed around October–November 2026 and lasting until December 2027, with a three-month probationary period. The position sits in the Sámediggi’s general office; the workplace is at Sajosaš in Inari. Partial remote work is possible. Requirements include the official educational qualification for the post and proficiency in the Sámi language. Fluency in written and spoken Sámi culture understanding, good collaboration and communication skills, ability to work independently, strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure are expected. Swedish and English language skills (written and spoken) and experience in communications tasks are considered an asset. Salary is determined according to Sámediggi’s pay scale level IV/II, with a base salary of 2998.97 EUR per month. In addition, a 24% Sámi region allowance applies for work in homelands, and experience-based allowances are paid according to length of service.
