Substitute Early Childhood Educator

Job description available in Finnish: The roles include substitutes for child care worker, special assistant, group assistant and preschool teacher in day-care centers. Some facilities are Swedish-speaking where knowledge of Swedish is an advantage. We offer the chance to work in diverse positions with children. The work mainly involves basic care and nurturing of children, guiding crafts and play, supervising outdoor activities, and assisting with meals and dressing. We require a responsible approach to working with children, as a substitute on shift you are one of the caregivers in the day-care center. We expect a flexible and positive attitude, ability to adapt to new and changing situations, independence, and ability to work with children. Substitutions are typically on weekdays from 7:00 to 17:00. Shorter substitutions may lead to longer assignments. When filling vacancies we also consider applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria. We assess all substitutes for suitability for early childhood tasks. Being a substitute requires at least 18 years of age or at least 60 credits in the field for students. Criminal background check is required as per law 504/2002, to be presented to Lohja recruitment during or after a first meet-up. All employees are bound by confidentiality.
