About the role

The role: Own Fermeta’s fermentation science. Ruminant nutrition has surprisingly little fermentation expertise; you bring classic biotech fermentation depth to design and optimize our postbiotic product. What you’ll do Design, run, and iterate fermentation processes (strain and substrate selection, upstream and downstream, scale-up) for our postbiotic feed product. Translate lab-scale results into commercially producible recipes with our contract manufacturer (first 3,500 kg batch already in production). Run and interpret rumen simulation experiments (Menke method, in-vitro), improving bioactivity and reproducibility. Collaborate with University and our science lead on validation and the patented mode of action. Feed structured results back to the data team to sharpen the rumen model. What you bring Degree in biotechnology, microbiology, or bioprocess engineering (PhD a plus, not required). Genuinely hands-on fermentation experience: you have run fermenters yourself. Comfort in an early-stage lab where you build processes from scratch. Fluent English. Bonus: ruminant nutrition, postbiotics, feed or food industry, scale-up experience. To apply for this job email your details to niklas@fermeta.com
