Sawmill Production Apprentice

We are seeking future sawmill production professionals for a permanent contract at Kaukas sawmill in Lappeenranta. The employment begins with a two-year apprenticeship program to ensure the necessary know-how for the job. The program starts in November 2026. During the apprenticeship you will work in sawmill production tasks and complete a professional qualification in the wood industry. The program and qualification are organized by Gradia. The learning focus is on production and maintenance tasks, and duties vary by workstation. The work is primarily shift work, performed in control rooms and across different sections of the sawmill to manage the production process. You are of legal age and eager to learn new things. You have a technical vocational qualification or equivalent knowledge and skills from another path. You are proactive, have a positive attitude and a sense of responsibility. You make decisions smoothly in changing situations and enjoy working as part of a team. Salary: pay is determined by job difficulty, personal competence, and performance; apprenticeship students are paid according to the local pay scale and progress with competence development.
