The position is a temporary assignment for an acting Head Nurse in Lapua and Kauhava MIEPÄ units for the period 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. The Lapua and Kauhava MIEPÄ units are responsible for regional specialized and basic mental health outreach care. The units include basic outpatient work, psychiatry clinic, and basic long‑term patient support activities. The units collectively employ 29 staff. The Head Nurse is responsible for the development, administration and personnel management of the units, leading the interface between specialized and basic care and coordinating with social welfare and other services for working-age adults. The role requires flexibility, strong social skills and a development‑minded attitude. The Head Nurse is supported by other Head Nurses in Mental Health and Substance Abuse care, the service area chief nurse, and the open care chief physician. Qualification: licensed health care professional and a suitable higher education degree in social and health care with completed leadership/administration studies. Leadership and development experience and suitability for the role are desirable. Terms and salary are determined according to the SOTE collective agreement, with a job-specific salary at the start of the contract of €4,058.36 per month. A probationary period applies. A health certificate and a criminal background check under Act 504/2002 must be presented before starting. A drug test may be required. HYVAEP is a non-smoking workplace. The role requires vaccination protection under Infectious Diseases Act §48 and a report on pulmonary tuberculosis under §55.
