Job Description

Mäntsälä municipality is seeking a youth worker for a six-month fixed-term employment contract in youth services for the period 1.9.2026-28.2.2027 or as agreed. In the position, you will be responsible for the coordination of the Finnish model for hobbies and the development of cultural youth work. In the position, you will promote the well-being, inclusion and hobby opportunities of children and young people in cooperation with schools, cultural services, associations, clubs and other partners. The youth worker's task is the comprehensive coordination of the Mäntsälä hobby model. The work includes organizing activities, developing quality, ensuring accessibility, reporting and managing projects and grants. The position involves strong and active cooperation with basic education and hobby activity organizers. A key part of the task is the development of cultural youth work. The work promotes young people's opportunities for creative activity, for example through art, music, media and events, and builds cooperation with local cultural operators, cultural services and schools. The goal is to bring cultural content as part of young people's everyday life, hobby activities and the activities of youth facilities and to support young people's voluntary cultural activity and expression. The position is also responsible for strengthening the participation of children and young people so that their views and wishes are visible in the planning and implementation of hobby activities and youth work. The youth worker also participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of youth services and develops services in cooperation with other leisure services. The position includes acting as a partner in the guidance of the youth council. In the position, you will act actively in various networks and maintain cooperation with education services, cultural services, wellbeing area operators and local associations and clubs. The person selected for the position is required to have a suitable higher education degree or other training suitable for the position as well as experience in youth work, hobby activities, cultural work or school cooperation. We value good interaction, cooperation and network skills and the ability to coordinate large entities. Success in the position requires a development-oriented and solution-focused approach to work, initiative, organizational ability and the ability to operate in a multidisciplinary operating environment. In addition, the position requires good oral and written communication skills and fluent use of Microsoft 365 software. Knowledge and experience of the Hellewi system are considered an advantage. Remuneration and terms of employment are determined according to the general municipal official and employment contract. Position-specific level salary: 2933.99 eur/month. In addition, work experience supplement can be paid based on previous work experience. The position is full-time 38.25 h/week. A three-month probationary period is followed in filling the position.
