Research & Development Scientist

The R&D Scientist II provides technical and scientific leadership to support new product development, troubleshooting and optimization of process and analytical methods, and technical communications with customers and suppliers. Identifies and implements new methods, equipment, and technologies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 1. New product development with experienced scientists: evaluate literature, analyze feasibility, perform experiments to develop, optimize, scale up, and validate new procedures, create SOPs, protocols, reports, and assist in transferring to other departments. 2. Design control procedures and documentation. 3. Troubleshooting and optimization: assist with production issues and scale up. 4. Scale up of new processes. 5. Identify and implement new technology through literature reviews and supplier communications. 6. Assist other employees with purification, calibration, maintenance, and order filling. 7. Ensure proper recording in lab notebooks and batch records. Other duties include safety compliance and training. Education/Experience: BA in a related field with 5+ years experience or Master’s with 3 years experience, or equivalent. Physical demands and work environment described.
