This vacancy is for a permanent position as an early childhood education teacher at Maitorpan Daycare in Vantaa, Finland. The daycare serves four groups of children and emphasises small-group activities in accordance with the varhaiskasvatuksen suunnitelman. We are part of the ProVaka model focused on positive behavior support, where adults model positive conduct and foster inclusive, social skills–driven practices. We collaborate with families and actively use nearby parks and forest field trips as part of everyday learning. We offer a thorough orientation, the possibility to participate in a mentoring program, and support from two generic special education teachers who assist in child support matters and work in groups on their own schedules. The unit has a developmental specialist who supports collaboration with families. Work atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, with opportunities to contribute to developing our operating culture. A dedicated sak-day is planned in the teacher’s shift, and there is a weekly sak-time for all teachers. The job includes a fixed-term early career development plan and there is a pathway to permanent employment if the right candidate is found. The city provides extensive professional development opportunities, a broad support network, and various staff benefits including sport, well-being and culture perks, lunch and public transport subsidies. The starting salary is 3129.71 EUR per month with increments for specific qualifications and master’s degree up to 37.88 EUR per month; a tenure-based experience allowance exists.
