About the role

A top-tier global financial-technology platform is building its US R&D Center from the ground up, and is hiring a founding Platform Architect to define and own the technical architecture of its Financial Cloud - a multi-site, multi-module deployment system serving hundreds of engineers across dozens of global compliance jurisdictions. This is a hands-on architecture role. You’ll set the architectural vision, make the foundational technology decisions, and work directly with engineering leads to keep the platform scalable, secure, and operationally excellent. It’s genuinely greenfield: you’re defining how the system works, not maintaining someone else’s. What you’ll own The end-to-end architecture of the Financial Cloud: the module versioning system, dependency-graph engine, GitOps deployment model, and multi-site configuration management. Platform standards: API contracts, inter-module communication patterns, build-reproducibility requirements, and supply-chain security policy (SLSA, SBOM, artifact signing). The change-impact analysis system: dependency-graph ingestion (static and runtime), PR-level impact computation, and selective test orchestration. The multi-site GitOps model: site-config repo structure, ArgoCD/Flux controller topology, and staging→canary→production promotion gated on Golden Signals. Architectural reviews, engineering standards, and mentorship of senior engineers on platform design. Partnership with security, compliance, and product to meet regulatory requirements across every deployment jurisdiction. What we’re looking for 10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years in platform/infrastructure architecture. A proven track record designing large-scale developer platforms or IDPs used by 100+ engineers in production. Deep Kubernetes expertise: operators, CRDs, custom controllers, multi-cluster management. Expert-level GitOps: ArgoCD or Flux at scale (10+ clusters), plus Kustomize and Helm. Strong Go, with solid distributed-systems and API design. Supply-chain security experience: SLSA, Sigstore, in-toto, SBOM generation. You can articulate architectural tradeoffs at the system level, not just implement solutions. Nice to have Platform/infrastructure architecture background at a fintech or a major cloud provider’s internal platform org. Graph databases (Neo4j, Dgraph) for dependency analysis. AWS or GCP platform-services experience. The setup Remote across the US to start, while the office is finalized.
