Join our team at Vaahterakangas child protection unit in Iisalmi to contribute to safe and high-quality child welfare work with skilled professionals. The unit opened in autumn 2023 and consists of two seven-bed living units designed to provide a homely and safe growth environment for children in need of foster care. The work is full-time and permanent, performed in two shifts, with start date agreed upon. As a guide, you will support and encourage children and youths in daily challenges and participate in assessments of care and upbringing. You will work closely with guardians, network, schools, and social authorities, and our unit emphasizes multidisciplinary dialogue and utilizing each field’s expertise in care processes. You will help ensure the child’s sense of participation and voice, and involve the child in decision-making. You can work with your personality and utilize diverse skills and interests in your roles. The pay follows the TES for private social services and ranges from 2 811,09–3 071,09 EUR per month depending on prior relevant experience, with TES allowances for shift work. We expect a suitable AMK degree in social welfare, health, or education (e.g., social services student, nurse, or occupational therapist) and prior experience with children and youth, particularly in child protection or psychiatric care for children and youths. Strong interpersonal, empathy, teamwork and flexible work approach are valued, along with organizational and communication skills.
