On behalf of JM, we are seeking a Data Engineer to help build a modern data platform from scratch and develop towards an architectural role over time. The role involves migrating from a traditional on-premise solution to a cloud-based platform in Snowflake, designing and building data pipelines, working with data modeling, ensuring performance and scalability, establishing data governance, automating processes, managing CI/CD in Azure DevOps, and collaborating with business units across Sweden, Norway, and Finland. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, strong SQL skills, experience with Snowflake, data modeling, Python, and cloud environments like Azure. Responsibilities
- Build and optimize data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Design, build, and develop the cloud-based data platform
- Work with data modeling for analysis and decision support
- Ensure performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- Establish data governance including data quality, lineage, and business rules
- Automate, test, and monitor data processes
- Manage CI/CD flows in Azure DevOps
- Collaborate with business to understand data needs and create business value
- Support Data Analysts in Power BI as needed
- Contribute to technical guidelines, architecture, and best practices
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Data Engineering
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience with data modeling (e.g., Kimball, star schema)
- Experience with data pipelines (ETL/ELT) in production
- Experience with Snowflake
- Experience with dbt or similar tools
- Experience with cloud environments like Azure
- Experience with Python
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps
- Good understanding of data architecture and data governance
