Senior Commercial Counsel at Synthesia, you will work with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Business Operations, and Go-To-Market teams. Report to Director, Commercial Legal (NYC-based). Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, negotiating commercial agreements (service agreements, licenses, data processing agreements, NDAs); advising on IP, data privacy, data security, software licensing, and GTM strategy; developing processes and playbooks; staying current on laws relating to AI and commercial contracts; independent guidance balancing business objectives with legal risk; knowledge expansion in IP, data protection, financial services, healthcare, AI governance; operating independently. Requirements: US law degree and 6+ years post-qualification experience in commercial transactions; in-house tech experience preferred; GDPR/CCPA knowledge; excellent drafting; enterprise negotiations; cloud services understanding; Order Forms/SOW experience. Location: Hybrid NYC or Austin. Compensation: $175k-$210k + equity.

Requirements
- US law degree and qualified to practice as an in-house U.S. attorney
- 6+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial transactions (SaaS, IP licensing, software licensing, product resale, distribution)
- In-house experience in the tech sector; AI company a bonus
- Experience negotiating data processing agreements and enterprise contracts
- Strong drafting, concise writing and communication
- Experience negotiating with enterprise customers
- Understanding of cloud services and professional services contracts
- Experience with Order Forms and Statements of Work
- Ability to work independently and balance business objectives with legal risk
