Etelä-Savon hyvinvointialue Eloisa is seeking two specialists in acute medicine for the on-call service starting 4 January 2027 or by agreement. The positions can be carried out in Mikkeli, Savonlinna, or both. The integrated, multi-site on-call service at Savonlinna Hospital offers diverse daily work across three lines: conservative, operative and general medicine. In Mikkeli, there is a 24/7 multi-site on-call service with acute care inpatient services. You will have continuous on-site support from specialists, and weekly hands-on ultrasound guidance with radiologist supervision when needed. Emergency and intensive care shifts can be arranged flexibly, with post-call coverage tailored to you. We also offer the on-call opportunities provided by two on-call hospitals on conservative and operative lines. Pay is among the top in the country: Doctor/Specialist in acute medicine with under 3 years licensure €5330/month; over 3 years licensure €6150/month. In addition, an acute allowance of €1000/month is paid on weekdays from 7:51 to 15:30, plus other compensation according to local collective agreements and any experience-based allowances. Eligibility requires the right to practice medicine independently as a licensed professional (Public Health Act 559/94, §4) and sufficient spoken and written Finnish. The role requires vaccination against infectious diseases under the Infectious Diseases Act and a health declaration regarding respiratory tuberculosis. Before confirmation, a health certificate must be provided. A probationary period applies. Applications must be submitted by the deadline via the Kuntarekry system.
