Porvoo City Library is seeking a project coordinator for a fixed-term employment period from 1 October 2026 to 31 July 2027. The role involves contributing to promoting the participation of immigrants in Porvoo and fostering dialogue between language and culture groups. The project, funded by the state for developing public libraries’ activities, aims to increase immigrant participation by organizing discussion events and other activities where different language and cultural groups meet. The coordinator will manage and communicate about the project, and the work includes organizing discussions, networking with integration services, and coordinating literacy and cultural events in multiple languages. Requirements include a suitable university or polytechnic degree and relevant work experience, plus experience in project work requiring broad networking. Good communication and interpersonal skills and fluency in Finnish are required; Swedish or other language skills and immigrant-background experience are considered advantageous. The work time is 36 hours 15 minutes per week, with the possibility of part-time employment at a minimum of 60% of full-time. Salary is 3,020.65 EUR per month for full-time work, with potential experience-based add-ons. A trial period lasts half of the employment duration.
