Work Ability Coach
Permanent coach role supporting jobseekers’ return to work; requires a relevant degree and five years’ experience.
Hattula Municipality’s employment services have a permanent Work Ability Coach position available from 1 January 2027 or as agreed. The employment services area is part of the municipality’s vitality division. The municipality’s Work Ability Coach is a professional in promoting employment and work ability. The role is comprehensive and individualised and is based on strong cooperation with different parties. The coach’s goal is to support job-seeking clients over the long term as they enter or return to working life by coordinating the support and services they need. The coach coordinates the client’s service process. The work is carried out with a goal-oriented approach and in a respectful, coaching-based and holistic manner. Client work focuses on motivating clients and providing solution-oriented guidance to strengthen their motivation for change, support their self-esteem, and help them identify their strengths and opportunities. Fifty per cent of the Work Ability Coach’s working time is allocated to the statutory duties of the employment authority. The municipal Work Ability Coach is part of the multidisciplinary team in the TyöHäme employment area, acting, among other things, as an expert on work-ability matters and as a liaison with other municipal actors. Success in the role requires knowledge of the regional and local labour-market situation and service network, strong networking skills, and broad expertise in services that promote work ability. The work includes tasks related to skills development and services supporting work ability. Duties also include facilitating groups. The work emphasises reducing structural unemployment, solutions that support work ability, and preventing social exclusion. The eligibility requirement is a suitable higher-education degree, for example a Bachelor of Social Services or Bachelor of Rehabilitation Counselling, and at least five years of work experience in the field. Further training related to factors affecting employment and work-ability challenges is desirable. We expect up-to-date experience in employment services or employment-promotion duties. Good spoken and written Finnish is required. Access to a car is an advantage for carrying out the duties. The role requires an independent approach, good teamwork and interaction skills, resilience under pressure, good problem-solving skills, and clear oral and written communication. Performing the duties requires the ability to manage and apply the legislation governing the work. The role offers interesting, varied, independent and responsible duties in a pleasant multidisciplinary working environment, flexible working hours, and the opportunity to influence the content of the work. Considered an advantage: - Experience using the A-TMT and TYPPI systems - Work experience in municipal employment services - Knowledge of employment services and service systems - Knowledge of employment-services legislation and guidelines - Knowledge of the labour market and education system - Knowledge of rehabilitation services that support work ability - Teamwork and networking skills - A genuinely client-centred, solution-focused and coaching approach to supporting clients’ well-being and work and functional ability The employer offers support for sports and cultural activities through E-passi, comprehensive occupational healthcare services, and free use of the municipality’s own gyms. The employer also has a positive attitude towards further training and skills development. The selection will emphasise the ability to manage broad areas of responsibility and a positive, change-oriented attitude. The Work Ability Coach post is a joint post with the City of Hämeenlinna; Hattula Municipality is the employer. Pay and other terms of service are determined in accordance with the Municipal General Collective Agreement for Public Servants and Employees (KVTES). The level-based salary is €3,134.26 per month. The post has a six-month probationary period. The person selected must provide an acceptable medical certificate regarding their health.
