General Practitioner

Etelä-Savo's wellbeing region Eloisa is seeking two physicians for permanent positions in elderly care services to start 1 November 2026 or per agreement. Our vacancies welcome physicians for home care and for residential services across Eloisa. The role includes phone rounds in home care and/or housing units, advising nurses, and pre-arranged home visits and/or visits to housing units. We work in a hybrid model and the role is highly customizable to your preferences, including the possibility to work close to home from distance. The main working areas are Mikkeli, Ristiina, Hirvensalmi and Pertunmaa. We’ll listen to your preferences on how many in-person days you want, to maintain balance between work and life. We have well-functioning tools for remote work. The patient record system is Lifecare. The work in elderly care is doctor-led, and your wellbeing and calm at work are highly important to us. You’ll be supported by an administrative chief physician as your supervisor and our medical team includes geriatrics, general practice, internal medicine and acute care specialists as well as palliative care expertise, so you can count on strong support for difficult decisions without unnecessary barriers. We are a diverse and non-discriminatory workplace. We expect you to work independently, with prior experience in elderly patient care. Specialist rights in a relevant specialty are a plus. Good collaboration skills in multidisciplinary work, and the ability and willingness to meet and treat all people with respect are essential. We offer competitive pay determined by Eloisa’s local agreement, which accounts for multiple completed specialist qualifications and scientific credentials. Example pay scales: Specialist / demanding tasks, 10 years of specialist training: 9901 – 10426 €/month; Specialist, under 10 years training: 9377.73 €/month; Doctor, more than 3 years since licensure: 8571.23 €/month; Doctor, under 3 years since licensure: 8047.09 €/month. Eligibility to practice general medicine independently as a licensed professional is required. Experience with elderly patients and strong Finnish language skills are required. Specialist rights in a relevant medical field are a plus. Sufficient speaking and writing Finnish skills are required. The tuberculosis health clearance under the Infectious Diseases Act section 48 and health status verification under section 55 are required. A health-status certificate must be provided before appointment. A six-month probation applies. People working with the elderly must provide an acceptable criminal background check before starting if employed for more than 3 months.
