Welcome to work at Myllypuro adult social work! We are looking for a social guidance counselor for a permanent position starting 1.10.2026. Our team consists of six social workers, nine social guidance counselors, two social guidance counselors working in reception services, and a leading social worker. The site is located in connection with the Myllypuro health and wellbeing center, next to the metro station with good transport links. The social guidance counselor works with clients over 30 years old. The client's service need is assessed, and based on the assessment, a client plan is made and planned work is started in cooperation with the client. Work is done independently with own clients as well as in pair work with another social guidance counselor or social worker in the office and in the client's own operating environments. In addition, the work includes, among other things, working in the reception service for new clients, processing applications for supplementary and preventive basic income support, implementing social rehabilitation and working in multidisciplinary networks in accordance with the core processes of the health and wellbeing center. Eligibility requirement: Professional university of applied sciences degree suitable for the social field (sosionomi, geronomi or rehabilitation instructor) in accordance with the Act on Social Care Professionals 817/2015 (Section 8). The position requires registration in the professional register of the License and Supervision Authority (formerly Valvira). The language skill requirement is good oral and satisfactory written skill in Finnish. The person selected for the position must present an occupational health assessment of their ability to perform the duties of the position. The position requires vaccination protection in accordance with Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis certificate in accordance with Section 55. In addition, we require: Good interaction skills, ability to work under pressure and interest in social guidance for adults and its development. We consider it an advantage: Knowledge of the Helsinki service system, management of the Apotti information system, and work experience in adult social work and individual care decision-making (e.g., supplementary and preventive basic income support).

Requirements
- University of Applied Sciences degree in social services (e.g., Social Services, Gerontology, or Rehabilitation Guidance)
- Registration in the professional register of the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Valvira)
- Good oral and satisfactory written proficiency in Finnish
- Occupational health assessment of ability to perform duties
- Vaccination protection and tuberculosis screening according to the Communicable Diseases Act
