Special Education Teacher

We are seeking an early childhood special education teacher for Pelttarinkatu unit to strengthen the pedagogical expertise of our kindergarten. We offer a working environment where everyone can utilise their strengths and develop their skills through training. The position starts as soon as a contract is agreed. As a special education teacher, you will be involved in the support process at various stages and collaborate with the staff of the groups in parallel- and co-teaching formats. You will participate in supporting the kindergarten’s pedagogical leadership. You will be part of the kindergarten management team, which includes the kindergarten principal and the deputy principal. A regional advisory special education teacher will support your work. Your job includes cooperation with various partners and active interaction with guardians. Our approach is guided by a warm, positive and respectful attitude towards the child. We recognise children's strengths and use them as a basis for planning and implementing activities. We hope you will bring your expertise to support children's learning, development and well-being. Eligibility is determined under the Finnish Universities Act 540/2018 §30. The person elected to the position must provide a criminal background check as per the act on background checks for working with children. The employment includes a probation period.
