Librarian

The Librarian duties include customer service and responsibility for the music service delivery and development, collection work, acquisition and cataloguing of music materials, and collaboration with local music organizations. Music librarianship requires an active approach to developing the department and the ability to meet diverse music consumers. Customer service serves all ages and includes services for children and youth. Qualifications include a professional degree or higher education degree (AMK) that includes, or is supplemented by, at least 60 study points (35 study weeks) in library and information science. We require broad knowledge of music, good Finnish language skills, and the ability to assist customers in Swedish and English. We value good teamwork and communication skills and an independent working style. Experience in music librarianship is a plus. Working hours are 36.25 hours per week with shift work including morning and evening shifts and Saturdays. The librarian primarily works at the main library, but as needed at other Kokkolan kaupunginkirjaston facilities. Salary is determined according to KVTES, with a task-related pay of 2,567.59 EUR per month and possible experience allowances. Trial period is 6 months.
