Special Planner

The City of Helsinki seeks a permanent Special Planner to develop diversity, equality and accessibility within its cultural services. The role focuses on integrating inclusive practices into everyday operations, structures and ways of working in Helsinki’s cultural services, including the cultural centers and the cultural support activities. You will make this expertise visible, articulate it, and advance it across the entire cultural services network. You will work on how diversity work is embedded in governance, processes and daily work, developing common principles, responsibilities and operating models that tie into strategic objectives and the city’s equality and inclusion plans. You will support and guide various services to identify their development needs, facilitate collaboration and sharing of best practices, and build shared concepts, tools and methods for learning together. You will bring forward diverse actors, phenomena and perspectives and help services identify who is left out by current practices, while defining and developing ways to monitor impacts and steer activities accordingly. The job emphasizes listening, building shared understanding and making perspectives visible that have not yet received sufficient attention. The position requires a suitable advanced university degree and sufficient written and spoken Finnish and English. Success hinges on a strong understanding of diversity, equality, and art and cultural services, plus experience in development work and the ability to implement ideas with various stakeholders. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, the ability to organize large-scale concepts and drive lasting change are essential.
