We are seeking a division head for the KeMik (Chemistry and Microbiology) subunit in the HUS Diagnostics Center. The Diagnostics Center is Finland’s leading producer of clinical laboratory and imaging services. Our primary operations cover hospital-level specialized care within the HUS consortium and primary care across the welfare regions. We also oversee laboratory and imaging operations in the Kymenlaakso and South Karelia welfare regions. The KeMik subunit comprises two responsibility areas: clinical chemistry and hematology, and clinical microbiology, employing around 850 multi-disciplinary health care professionals. The division head will be responsible for the unit’s operations and finances, development and coordination of the subspecialties across the entire HUS region, and for services offered to primary health care. We seek a determined, collaborative leader with proven experience in leading subunits, financial stewardship, and process improvement; change management, negotiation skills, and innovative approaches to reform are valued, as is customer-focused operations and experience in account management. A personnel security clearance may be conducted with the candidate’s consent. The supervisor to the division head is the Diagnostics Center’s results area leader. Start date is 1 October 2026 or per agreement. Apply as soon as possible, no later than 28 August 2026. Qualifications include specialist physician (Erikoislääkäri) and experience in leadership roles in the field, plus licensed physician or license to practice. Finnish language proficiency at a good spoken and written level and Swedish at a satisfactory spoken and written level, or Swedish at a good level with Finnish at a satisfactory level. Vaccination against infectious diseases is required for those working with patients and clients, and health status checks for TB for healthcare personnel.
