About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive special youth worker for the Kouvola youth services for a fixed-term contract from 24.8.2026 to 30.6.2027 or as agreed. The position is part-time, 30 hours/week. The special youth worker will work in youth services at Motipaja. Motipaja is a different learning environment for young people aged 16-18 who are at risk of dropping out of their studies or who do not have a place of study. The goal of Motipaja is to motivate young people to study and provide support in planning their future path, life management, and discovering their own resources. Duties include the planning, implementation, evaluation, and development of the Motipaja period together with a partner, as well as guiding young people and network cooperation with educational institutions and other networks. Qualification requirements for the position are a degree in community pedagogy, social work (sosionomi), or another suitable UAS degree. We require applicants to have previous experience working with young people, good social skills, and digital competence. Mastery of coaching methods, pedagogical skills, and networking expertise are considered an advantage. Salary and terms of employment are determined according to KVTES. The person selected for the position must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Act 504/2002 (Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children) before starting work. The position includes a 4-month probationary period. Interviews will generally be held in week 34.
