We are seeking a pharmacy technician to join the Kainuu Welfare Services for the Kainuu Central Hospital Pharmacy for the period 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2027. The start date can be adjusted. The role is broad and versatile, including various pharmaceutical tasks from logistics to drug preparation. Tasks are performed on a rotating basis. The hospital pharmacy uses a warehouse automation system and several intelligent medicine cabinets as well as a virtual intelligent cabinet application. Drug preparation takes place in the hospital pharmacy’s clean rooms. A legally licensed pharmacist is required. We require vaccination protection under §48 of the communicable diseases act. The position requires an independent work attitude, willingness to learn, good collaboration skills, and flexibility to operate in changing situations. IT skills are also valued. The role involves substantial collaboration within the hospital pharmacy and with wards. Previous experience in different pharmaceutical tasks is an advantage. We will train the substitute for every task. At Kainuu Central Hospital Pharmacy there are 18 staff in total, of which 7 are pharmacists. The pharmacy is located in Kajaani, which offers outdoor recreational opportunities and a staff gym, plus cultural activities. Kajaani has good transport connections. Applications are submitted through Kuntarekry. Probation period is 4 months. When selecting, priority is given to employees who are subject to termination notices by Kainuu Welfare Services, if they meet the eligibility criteria. Before the appointment is confirmed, the chosen must provide a health status report. Employees may be tested for drugs at work.
