Original job description

We are seeking a Data Engineer for the Finnish Red Cross CRM unit to support the development of the organisation’s data capabilities and fundraising data analytics in Microsoft Fabric. The role combines technical implementation and collaboration with different functions. Your work will help us make fundraising more impactful and effective and strengthen the organisation’s ability to help. The fixed-term employment begins no later than 1 January 2027 and ends on 31 December 2029. Responsibilities include: - Designing and building data pipelines and securely storing data in Microsoft Fabric. - Defining and documenting data models in collaboration with different functions. - Developing reporting and other data products alongside a BI Developer. - Automating the creation of campaign audiences and other recurring data work. - Participating in the development of the organisation’s shared data and Fabric practices. We hope you have skills in the following technical areas: - SQL and database solutions. - ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing principles. - Data modelling and an understanding of Power BI reporting. - Experience with Microsoft Azure / Microsoft Fabric environments. - The ability to translate operational needs and challenges into data models and technical solutions. - Python or another language suitable for automation. Experience and interest in the following are considered an advantage: - Data protection, pseudonymisation and anonymisation. - CRM systems and handling customer data. - Analytics architecture design. - Databricks or other data tools. - Using AI and agent-based solutions in data and analytics work. Experience in similar roles, a self-directed approach, and good communication and interpersonal skills will support success in the role.
