Learn more at www.getpliant.com. ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for an AI-native Product Manager to define how people interact with AI across Pliant. AI is fundamentally changing how software works. Instead of navigating workflows manually, users increasingly ask questions, review recommendations, delegate repetitive work, and collaborate with intelligent systems. At Pliant, we're building that future for finance teams. You'll define how customers: - understand what's happening - decide what to do - increasingly let the system do it for them We're building the layer that turns Data → Insights → Decisions → Actions. Your scope includes Pliant Assistant ("Pliant Mind"), AI-powered workflow automation, natural language interaction, proactive insights and recommendations, shared AI interaction patterns, and reusable AI capabilities that product teams build upon. This isn't a team that adds AI features to existing products. This team defines the shared AI experience across Pliant. Beyond building customer-facing experiences, you'll establish reusable AI patterns, capabilities, and best practices that enable every product team to build trustworthy AI products faster. This is one of the highest-impact product roles at Pliant. WHAT YOU’LL DO DEFINE THE FUTURE AI EXPERIENCE - Own the strategy, roadmap and execution for Pliant Assistant and AI-powered experiences across Pliant. - Define how customers interact with AI to understand, manage and automate financial workflows. - Move beyond dashboards and reports towards products that help customers make decisions and take action. - Design AI-native workflows that reduce manual work while keeping users in control. BUILD PRODUCTS CUSTOMERS TRUST - Design AI experiences that don’t feel like black boxes. Create interaction patterns that help users: - understand why the AI made a recommendation - review and correct AI output - teach the system over time - confidently delegate repetitive work - know when to trust automation and when to stay in control - Build products that become more useful as customers interact with them. THINK BEYOND THE INTERFACE - Partner closely with Engineering and Data to define how AI products work behind the scenes. You won't build models yourself, but you should comfortably reason about topics like: - model selection - retrieval and context - deterministic rules vs LLMs - evaluation - observability - prompt management - customer data isolation - latency, cost and quality trade-offs - human-in-the-loop workflows - guardrails and safety BUILD REUSABLE AI CAPABILITIES - Define reusable AI interaction patterns that product teams can build upon. - Help teams decide where AI genuinely creates customer value—and where it doesn't. - Establish best practices for trustworthy AI experiences across the company. - Partner with Engineering on the shared capabilities that enable AI across multiple products. GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY - This is not a coordination role. You build: - write product specifications - prototype ideas using modern AI tools - go deep with engineers on technical problems - analyse product data - talk to customers - iterate quickly based on feedback WHAT YOU’LL BRING - 5+ years of Product Management experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, fintech, developer tools, AI products, workflow automation or data-heavy platforms. - Strong product judgement and the ability to distinguish between exciting technology and valuable customer outcomes. - Experience building complex products involving data, APIs, workflows or backend-heavy systems. - Comfort operating in ambiguous problem spaces and turning them into clear product direction. - Strong AI product intuition - You don't need to be an ML engineer. But you should understand how modern AI products work and comfortably discuss topics such as: - when to use deterministic logic vs LLMs - context construction and retrieval - evaluation and quality measurement - prompt management - feedback loops - model routing - latency, cost and quality trade-offs - trust, explainability and failure modes - Technical fluency - You're comfortable discussing architecture, APIs, AI systems and technical trade-offs with engineers, even if you're not implementing the solution yourself. - Builder mentality - You enjoy rapidly prototyping ideas, experimenting with modern AI tools and validating concepts with customers before investing in engineering effort. - Experience shipping AI-powered products, intelligent workflow automation or similarly complex technical products is strongly preferred. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE - customers rely on Pliant Assistant as part of their daily workflow - AI meaningfully reduces manual work across financial processes - customers trust the system enough to delegate high-confidence tasks - AI recommendations consistently influence customer decisions - product teams build AI experiences using shared patterns instead of reinventing them - AI investments are measured by customer outcomes, not model usage WHAT WE OFFER - One of the highest-impact Product Management roles at Pliant. - The opportunity to define how AI becomes part of the core customer experience. - Ownership of both customer-facing AI experiences and the shared capabilities that enable AI across the company. - The chance to work on real AI problems at the intersection of fintech, automation and enterprise software. - Close collaboration with exceptional engineers, designers and product leaders. - Flat hierarchies, fast decision-making and high autonomy. - Flexible work setup (remote, hybrid or from one of our European offices). - Competitive compensation and benefits. Pliant is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and abilities, and are committed to an inclusive hiring process. If you need any accommodations during the interview process, please let us know.
