We are seeking a university lecturer in translation studies for a fixed-term position from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027, in the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication. The role is teaching-focused in the Master's Programme in Multilingual Communication and Translation Studies, part of the Language Unit, which produces understanding of the societal significance of language and addresses challenges posed by cultural and linguistic diversity. The language offerings include English, Swedish, German, Russian, and Finnish studies for translators, with options to specialize in interpreting, translation technology, terminology, or accessibility. The role involves teaching and supervising courses in Swedish-Finnish translation, among other tasks, depending on the candidate's background and skills. The candidate must hold a suitable master's degree, have translation competence in Swedish-Finnish, and demonstrate good collaboration and research orientation. Experience in higher education translation courses, professional translation or interpreting experience, supervision experience, pedagogical training, and a doctorate or ongoing doctoral studies are considered advantages. The position offers a salary based on the university's salary system, with a typical starting range of €4,000–€4,200.
