Sports Facility Attendant

The sports facility caretaker works in maintenance and upkeep tasks for outdoor and indoor sports facilities, as well as customer service and supervision duties. As a caretaker you will be close to active sports club activities, ensure excellent sports facilities in Pieksämäki, and serve active residents in a professional work community. Tasks include maintenance of the swimming pool, sports halls, central sports field, artificial turf field, ice rink, the Vedenjakaja network, nearby recreational areas, jogging trails and other sports facilities, as well as winter maintenance of cross-country ski tracks and outdoor ice. Although much work is machine-assisted, the selected professional is expected to participate in physical work and to approach tasks with an open mind, flexibility, and positivity, with grit to perform physical work in all weather. The role requires basic computer literacy, proactive development of one’s own tasks, and ideas to improve the whole Sport Pieksämäki team’s success. We hope for previous experience with work machines and require at least a B-driver’s license. A relevant professional qualification for sports facility caretakers or other suitable vocational training is advantageous. There is also an opportunity to start as a trainee on an apprenticeship basis. Salary is determined according to TS collective agreement. A six-month probationary period applies. Certificates and diplomas are to be shown at the interview. The position requires a pre-employment medical check in the employer’s occupational health service due to work involving equipment operation. Pieksämäki is a smoke-free workplace.
