Special Education Teacher in Early Childhood Education

Dear special education teacher! Welcome to our wonderful community and a daycare centre full of opportunities, Neulanen. Your work partner will be another special education teacher. Neulanen has 19 groups. We have extensive expertise, which we develop through weekly pedagogical meetings and many kinds of collaborative working groups. Together with the other staff, you will be responsible for planning activities, observing children’s support needs, guiding and supporting children in early childhood and pre-primary education, helping build a pedagogically suitable culture and learning environment, and supporting each child’s individual learning. The work is based on Helsinki’s early childhood education and pre-primary education plans, the early childhood education unit’s operational plan, and the child’s individual early childhood education and pre-primary education plans. Eligibility requirements: We require you to have the eligibility under the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018), or under the transitional provision (section 75), for a position as an early childhood education teacher, and to have completed studies that provide professional qualifications for special education duties, as laid down by government decree; or to have a Master of Education with special education as the major subject (early childhood special education training). A decision by the Finnish National Agency for Education recognising eligibility for the position on the basis of foreign education also fulfils the eligibility requirement. We also require good spoken and written Finnish. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children (504/2002). A health examination concerning tuberculosis of the respiratory organs is checked for those working with children under school age (Communicable Diseases Act, section 55).
