We are seeking an operations director to launch, lead and develop a new service unit in Valkeakoski. The unit will provide 24/7 child protection foster care with two residential sub-units—one specialized and one demanding—designed to support children requiring neuropsychiatric or developmental disability expertise. The organization will also establish a school under the Valkeakoski education department. You will recruit two unit managers who will report to you and supervise daily operations; the unit managers will lead teams and act as first-line supervisors. You will report to the regional director. The project starts on 1 January 2027 and the position will be filled flexibly during autumn. Core responsibilities include starting up the entire operation, managing client relationships, personnel, finances, and acting as line manager to the unit managers. Daily tasks involve maintaining quality and impact of care, leading staff development, and coordinating school and welfare collaboration. The role also carries pedagogical responsibility and shaping a culture consistent with our values. The first year objectives include business startup tasks, internalizing company values, creating client base and partnerships, ensuring quality and results, and making measurable care data visible and communicable. Requirements include prior leadership and development experience in child protection foster care and a social/healthcare university degree. Experience in starting a new operation is a plus.
