Become a foster parent for Validia Family Care in Helsinki. Have you ever considered fostering? Could your home be a steady and caring place for a child in need? We are now looking for foster parents for Validia Family Care in Helsinki. In foster care a child becomes part of your family and lives ordinary everyday life with you. As a foster carer you are truly present for the child in the joys and sorrows of daily life, including challenging moments. Everyday life can be meaningful and demanding at the same time, requiring long-term commitment, flexibility and the ability to meet the child at their own starting point. The position is based on a service agreement with agreed remuneration and allowance. The position requires PRIDE introductory training or equivalent process coaching. If the training is missing, you will receive it from Validia Family Care before starting. We also provide comprehensive support after training and walk beside you throughout the journey. You will receive guidance for everyday situations, and the work will take into account other members of the family. You will have access to mentoring, supervision, additional training and family-oriented days. If necessary you will get home help, and as a foster carer you have the rest days provided by the Foster Care Act. We hope you have a stable life situation and enough resources to commit to the child’s daily life. We value willingness to work with the child’s relatives and professionals and to learn new things. Suitable education or experience is an advantage but not a prerequisite for the role. A driving license is required, and a criminal record check for those working with children will be verified. We offer comprehensive support from family care professionals throughout the process and coaching for the role. You can focus on what matters and build a daily life for the child with room to grow and form attachments. This is an opportunity to do something genuinely meaningful in someone else’s life.
