We are looking for a COUNSELLOR for the Compass – Path to Working Life project! Would you like to help strengthen employment opportunities for young people, the long-term unemployed and others who face difficulties finding work, such as people over 50 and people with an immigrant background? Are you a versatile guidance professional—an inspiring group facilitator and a solution-focused companion in individual guidance, who brings heart to the work? Vaasa Settlement is looking for a counsellor for varied and meaningful work in the Compass – Path to Working Life project. Compass – Path to Working Life is a two-year project funded by ESF+. It runs from 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2028. The project aims to strengthen unemployed jobseekers’ job-search and working-life skills and promote employment. The project will identify new recruitment methods in the region and create lasting local solutions that promote employment, inclusion and well-being in the area. Role: Together with another counsellor, you will plan and deliver group activities and individual guidance for unemployed jobseekers. In the project, you will develop digital job searching, support for work ability, and cooperation with authorities and employers. You will take part in piloting new accessible services and recruitment methods. You will provide jobseekers with employment-supporting services such as job-search groups and workshops, individual guidance, support with digital job searching, service guidance, and visits to educational institutions and employers. In addition, you will take part in employer cooperation, organise recruitment events and information sessions, and develop cooperation with authorities, educational institutions and employers. We expect: - Experience in customer-facing work and group guidance - Experience in work that supports employment - An independent approach and good interaction skills - A Bachelor of Social Services (UAS) or equivalent qualification - Sufficient Finnish, Swedish and English skills Considered an advantage: - Experience working with immigrants - Good ICT skills - Good digital skills and social media expertise We offer: - Varied and meaningful work as part of a committed team - An opportunity to develop new approaches - Broad networks and the opportunity to work as part of the nationwide Settlement Movement Employment: - Full-time work (38 hours 20 minutes per week, 7 hours 40 minutes per day) - Employment period: 12 October 2025–31 July 2028 - Pay: Private social services collective agreement, G24D - Work begins immediately or by agreement Interested?
