The ELPH-ML project, led by Dr. Ransell D'Souza and Prof. Miguel Caro, is hiring a Doctoral Researcher to develop a machine learning framework linking electron–phonon interactions, Wannier-based Hamiltonians and phonon properties for functional materials. The appointee will generate data from electronic structure theory calculations (Quantum ESPRESSO, Wannier90, EPW), apply an E(3)-equivariant AI framework to quantify band-convergence effects on thermoelectric transport, and model gas adsorption effects relevant to next-gen gas sensors. The position involves collaborations within international communities and state-of-the-art computing facilities (CSC). The role includes reporting to the PI and collaborating with experimental teams. The fixed-term contract is initially for 2 years; six months are available to apply to the doctoral programme. The Otaniemi Campus at Aalto University is the primary workplace.
