Mechanical Data Center Technician

The Mechanical Operations Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems supporting a mission-critical data center in Lappeenranta, Finland. Working as part of a 24/7 Critical Facilities Operations team, the technician ensures maximum equipment availability while supporting the site's commitments to energy efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include operating and monitoring mechanical infrastructure using BMS and routine field inspections, responding to alarms and faults, recording readings and shift activities, supporting planned switching operations, performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, assisting with commissioning and recommissioning, maintaining CMMS records, and maintaining systems such as chilled water, AHUs, pumps, and other mechanical components. Health, Safety & Compliance duties include following Finnish safety legislation and EU requirements, PTW/LOTO procedures, PPE usage, participating in emergency response, and promoting a safety culture. Education requirements include a Vocational Qualification or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Building Services Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical discipline. Experience: 2–5 years in similar environments; CMMS and BMS experience preferred. Preferred qualifications include safety cards and fluency in English; Finnish language skills are advantageous.
