We are recruiting a FIXED-TERM EARLY YEARS TEACHER for Kangaskontio Daycare for the 2026–2027 season. The position is in a group of children aged 2–4 at the start of the employment relationship. Kangaskontio is a small, four-group daycare with very good facilities for each child group. There is a forest next to the daycare, and the group names are Mesikämmenet, Otsot, Nallet and Mörrit. There are currently only preschool-aged children; preschoolers are centralized to Maikkula daycare. We focus on the pedagogy of younger children, and in our daycare children receive high-quality early childhood education under the guidance of our professional staff. In the group, we implement positive pedagogy sensitively and with respect for the child. Small-group activities are of primary importance. The teacher must have the qualification required by the Early Childhood Education Act (541/2018, section 26) considering the transitional provisions for personnel (section 75). The degree in Educational Science with studies providing professional competencies in early education or a degree in social welfare and health care with at least 60 credits focusing on early childhood education and social pedagogy are required. The position’s pay is determined by the job-specific pay scale and levels of competence and responsibility, ranging from €2929.39 to €3042.60 per month. The actual pay consists of the job-specific pay and any other section-based allowances under the collective agreement (OVTES). Before starting, the successful candidate must present a criminal record extract as required by the law on criminal background checks for those working with children (504/2002). In addition, a health clearance ensuring no contagious lung tuberculosis is required before starting work, per Infectious Diseases Act §55. The position includes a probationary period.
