Youth Worker

We are seeking an enthusiastic youth worker for the Maunula Youth Work Unit in a permanent position. As a youth worker you will work in the Maunula Youth Work Unit, Månsas Deli cafe located in Maunula House. Månsas Deli is a cafe that employs youths aged 17–29. The work is targeted at individual and small-group activities in a cafe environment. Your task is to create the conditions for youth agency, provide support for young people in various life situations, and work with youths individually, in small groups and in networks. You already have experience in youth work and a versatile set of methods. Success in the role requires good collaboration skills, ability to engage in dialogue, self-direction, and the ability to inspire. As a youth worker you promote equality, human rights, and sustainable development in our operations. In your duties: guide youths in a planned way in individual work and in small groups; work with youth networks; plan and implement activities together with youths; promote youth participation and influence; produce and use information about youths and their needs; create partnerships, collaborate and promote youth well-being in the Maunula area through networks and your work; communicate multi-channel with youths about your activities. We seek an interesting and goal-driven youth worker with a passion to influence youth well-being and to do quality youth work. Eligibility requires a suitable polytechnic degree, for example a community pedagogy (AMK) or social services degree. The role requires the ability to identify youths’ situations and needs and to seek solutions together with the youth and their networks. We expect good interaction and empathy skills and readiness to develop in the job. You have various tools to guide groups and to do individual work. We require experience in youth work and the use of activity-based methods, and we view cafe/restaurant work experience as a plus. In addition to Månsas Deli, the youth worker participates in other activities of the Maunula Youth Work Unit (e.g., participation work and outreach youth work). The job includes evening and weekend work. Interviews will be held 16–24 September 2026. We offer an interesting and meaningful position where you can use your skills every day. In this job you will creatively apply youth work methods in one-on-one and group work.
