Pattasten school is seeking a competent special education needs teacher for a fixed-term position from 1 September 2026 to 30 April 2027. Role and duties: We are looking for a skilled special education needs teacher to join our team and contribute to the development of special education and activities. The position is placed for 8th grade. Requirements include good collaboration skills, a communal working approach and proficiency in diverse teaching and assessment methods. We hope you have varied experience in the field of special education and multidisciplinary cooperation. You will work with a classroom assistant as a colleague and collaborate closely with other SEN teachers and student welfare staff. If suitable candidates are lacking, recruitment may also be offered to a person with a classroom teaching qualification or another suitable teaching degree. Mastery studies in special pedagogy are regarded as advantageous. The Finnish collective agreement OVTES governs salary and terms of employment; the base salary for teachers at Raahen city exceeds the level defined by OVTES. The successful applicant must present a health certificate and a police clearance for working with children within 30 days of notification of selection, not older than six months. A trial period of up to half of the contract duration is used in fixed‑term appointments.
