About the role

Do you want to combine technical expertise with clear communication? We are looking for a documentation engineer in Kokkola to strengthen our documentation expert team. You will work as part of a specialist organization that produces documentation for world-leading machine and equipment manufacturers. The work is performed flexibly both remotely and on-site as needed. Occasional presence at the client's or Etteplan's premises in Kokkola is required. As a documentation engineer you are responsible for producing, maintaining and developing technical documentation related to our clients' products and systems. You ensure that the documentation is high quality, up-to-date and meets user needs. You will produce user and maintenance manuals, spare parts catalogs and other content that supports the lifecycle of equipment and systems for various audiences, such as end users and service organizations. In your work you will familiarize yourself with our clients' products, technical solutions and operating environments. You collect information from designers and other experts and refine it into clear, easily usable documents. You also participate in developing documentation practices, estimating the workload and schedules of documentation projects and ensuring the quality and consistency of documentation. You will use modern documentation methods and, as possible, also AI solutions. You work independently but in close cooperation with our clients, designers and our international documentation network. To succeed you should have: a suitable technical education, for example an engineer or Master of Science in Engineering degree; at least two years of experience in similar tasks; experience in technical documentation or instruction/documentation writing; excellent written and spoken Finnish and English; good cooperation and interpersonal skills as well as proactive and solution-oriented approach; ability to assess workload, schedule and cost implications and to collaborate with experts from different design disciplines; systematic and careful working style; proficient use of information systems and the ability to learn new software quickly. Nice to have: practical experience in machine, vehicle or automation technology; experience with structured documentation and related tools; knowledge of XML and the DITA standard; experience in using AI to create technical content; experience with content management systems, Adobe FrameMaker or similar tools; image editing capability.
