Are you a licensed laboratory nurse or biomedical scientist, interested in working in a multidisciplinary and stimulating work community at the core of laboratory science? You will work with a variety of analyses and instruments, while also providing customer service. If this sounds like you, you may become a new member of the team at HUS Diagnostic Centre in Meilahti, in the Automated Laboratory. HUS Diagnostic Centre is Finland’s leading provider of clinical laboratory and imaging services, mainly serving the HUS group’s specialized medical care and the welfare regions’ primary health care. We also operate in the Kymenlaakso and South Karelia welfare regions. We work across eight medical specialties. We are responsible for nationally demanding studies and for the research and teaching commissioned to a university hospital. Diagnostic tests play a central role in confirming diseases, excluding conditions, part of treatment and follow-up and screening. About 3400 laboratory and imaging professionals work at the Diagnostic Centre in more than 150 locations. We are recruiting two laboratory nurses/biomedical scientists for permanent, full-time positions in the Automated Laboratory at Meilahti. Your role relates to laboratory analytics. The Automated Laboratory is a modern, high-volume emergency laboratory where we continuously adopt the latest technology. As a laboratory nurse you will act as an expert in diverse tasks in an automated pathway environment within clinical chemistry, immunochemistry and emergency analytics. In addition, we perform blood gas and toxicology analyses. The work is on a 3-shift rotation and includes sample collection on the Meilahti hospital campus. In addition to traditional lab-nurse skills, we value IT proficiency, technical competence, organizational ability, handling of large sample volumes and good problem-solving skills. We require an active, flexible and committed working approach. You enjoy teamwork yet can work independently, and you like learning new things and developing practical processes. A community-based shift planning process gives you influence over your shifts. The salary is determined according to the SOTE collective agreement. The base salary is 3218.18 €/month with possible experience and other allowances. We require vaccination protection according to the communicable diseases act for those working with patients and customer areas, and a health statement regarding tuberculosis for those working in health care units.
