Personal Assistant

A woman with reduced mobility, born in 1962, is looking for a substitute for the period of her other assistant’s sick leave, starting on 19 October and lasting at least until 31 December 2026. The assistant’s duties include household tasks, cooking, laundry, maintenance cleaning (vacuuming and damp mopping), reminding the client about things, and accompanying her on errands. In addition, the assistant independently distributes medication; thorough orientation will be provided. The duties also include assisting the client at a swimming pool, and for this reason the client hopes the substitute will be a woman. The client can stand and walk independently on good days. A manual or electric wheelchair is always used for getting around outside the home. Care-sector training, such as a practical nurse qualification, is an advantage but is not essential. The assistant is expected to be able to work as part of a team, take initiative, and have a positive and flexible attitude. A sense of humour is also welcome. It is important that the assistant speaks fluent Finnish. Assistants’ shifts alternate weekly between morning and evening shifts. Evening shifts are Monday to Friday from 19:00 to 21:00 and on weekends from 10:00 to 15:00. During morning-shift weeks, working hours are 10:00–17:00 and weekends are free. The client lives in a terraced house; work occasionally takes place at the client’s cottage as well. Pay group B2, €14.23 per hour. There is a probationary period at the start of employment. The employer has the right to check the criminal records extract of the person selected for the job.
