About the role

Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Develop a multi-objective optimization method balancing structural performance, cost, and life cycle assessment (LCA).
  • Formulate analytical and/or numerical models and define objectives and constraints.
  • Explore trade-offs through Pareto analyses and sensitivity studies.
  • Evaluate candidate designs using representative case studies and benchmark results.
  • Deliver an optimization workflow and practical recommendations for practitioners.

Requirements

  • Master’s student in mechanical, civil, aerospace, materials, naval architecture, or closely related discipline with a solid grounding in structural mechanics and a keen interest in sustainable design, multi-material structures, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with LCA, finite element methods, and basic scripting (e.g., Python or MATLAB) is an asset.
