BMS Project Manager for Datacenter Projects

We are seeking an experienced BMS project manager for datacenter job sites in the Helsinki metropolitan area. In this role you will be responsible for the successful execution of building automation projects across multiple datacenter sites. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a key role on demanding and visible critical infrastructure projects in a fast-growing sector. The assignment starts as soon as possible and is estimated to last about 12 months. The employment can be offered as a fixed-term contract or alternatively as a freelancer on a billable basis depending on the applicant’s situation and preferences. Key duties include: leading the design, implementation, and delivery of building automation projects across multiple datacenter sites; leading and coordinating project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders; preparing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk management plans; managing project finances including cost tracking, forecasting, reporting, and profitability monitoring; ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality requirements, and project specifications; collaborating with designers, subcontractors and other stakeholders; coordinating procurement, logistics and resources across several sites; monitoring project progress and providing regular reports; supporting commissioning, handover and project closeout phases. What we expect: at least 5 years of experience as a project manager in construction, mechanical/electrical engineering, automation or a related field; proven track record of leading demanding, multidisciplinary projects; solid understanding of contract frameworks, project management and occupational safety legislation; experience with project budgeting, forecasting and project economics; strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills; good spoken and written English; ability to work independently and lead project teams in a rapidly changing project environment; valid driving license and willingness to travel between sites in the Helsinki area; valid work permit in Finland; valid health and electrical safety certificates. Prior experience with datacenter sites is highly valued. We also value knowledge of building automation systems (BMS) and experience with platforms such as Metasys, EasyIO, Tridium Niagara, Trend, Siemens, Schneider Electric or similar systems. Experience leading large projects in regulated environments and using project management tools like MS Project or Primavera supports success in this role. PMP/PRINCE2 or similar project management certifications and a relevant university degree in construction, electrical engineering, automation or engineering are considered a plus. Further information: work takes place at multiple datacenter sites in the Helsinki area. Working hours are Monday–Friday 8:00–17:00 and Saturdays 8:00–14:00. Interested?
