Telecommunications Technician (Fiber) for Uusimaa

A position for a Telecommunications Installer in Uusimaa with permanent long-term employment. The role involves building, installing and maintaining fibre optic cables and networks in field conditions as well as in residential buildings. Tasks include fibre splicing, junction changes, overhead drops, connections, equipment installations, as well as fault locating and repair. Prior experience with cable television networks is an asset. The work is often in the field and on infrastructure sites. The candidate should be proactive, possess problem-solving skills and be willing to work in variable conditions. Experience with operator networks, reading project drawings and using various measuring devices for testing and fault-finding is especially valued. Travel is primarily within the Uusimaa region with service vehicle, and there is also a requirement for travel and overtime elsewhere in Finland. A security clearance will be performed for the selected candidate. Requirements include: electrical or telecommunications installer education; experience in constructing and splicing fibre networks; ability to read drawings and act accordingly; valid work safety, first aid/emergency and road work cards; B driver’s license; good Finnish language skills (English is a plus); willingness to overtime and travel; proactive attitude and motivation to deliver high-quality work.
