Telecommunications Specialist

We are seeking a telecommunications specialist to join our growing defense business to design, develop and maintain secure and reliable telecommunications networks. You will be part of a expert team that builds and maintains security-critical telecommunications solutions. The role is based at Insta’s Tampere or Espoo offices and at client sites. Due to security classifications the position is 100% on-site with travel within Finland, especially in the initial phase about 1–2 days per month. Your duties include designing, implementing, developing and maintaining secure telecommunications networks and services for the client, working through the full lifecycle of network solutions, in close collaboration with the client’s telecommunications experts, other technical specialists and Insta’s team. You will work on ensuring the functionality and cybersecurity of the networks, diagnosing outages and issues, documenting solutions and environments, working in high-security environments, and collaborating with client teams. A strong knowledge of IP networks and TCP/IP, plus hands-on experience in designing, implementing and maintaining network solutions, is required. Experience with routers, switches and firewalls management, and network security is desired. Knowledge of voice and video services and related technologies and protocols (e.g., SIP/VoIP) is a plus. In addition to technical skills, we value a solution-oriented and analytical approach and the ability to document implemented solutions clearly. You will work well with clients and other experts and be able to operate both independently and as part of a team.
