Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a maintenance technician (mechanical) for the LVL plant in Varkaus for a permanent position. In this role you will ensure uninterrupted operation of production equipment and participate in a variety of maintenance tasks as part of a professional team. The position is permanent and performed in shifts (TAM37). As a maintenance technician you will work in mechanical maintenance within the LVL plant area. Your duties include fault finding, preventive maintenance, condition monitoring measurements and maintenance and repair work such as oil changes and lubrication. You are responsible for machine adjustments and fault repair. You will participate in proactive maintenance and can respond quickly to unexpected challenges. You will report work to the maintenance information system (SAP) and participate in developing production processes and maintenance together with other parts of the organisation. The packaging paper mill operations include a wood handling plant, pulp mill, recycling fiber plant, and a corrugated board surface coating machine PK3. The LVL plant produces veneer boards for construction and rough sawn timber for sawn timber and planing. The Varkaus plant’s annual wood consumption (pine and spruce) is about 2 million cubic meters. Wood procurement is primarily from within a 100 km radius of the plant. The Varkaus plant complex employs about 420 permanent workers in production and maintenance.
