Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an occupational therapist for the Eating Disorders Unit of the Psychiatry Department’s Youth Psychiatry division at HUS. The unit serves both adolescent and adult clients aged 13 and up. The therapist’s services are primarily directed at the intensive day hospital ward S2, but the role also involves work on day ward S3 and the Eating Disorder outpatient clinic, and possibly a 24-hour ward S1. The position is Monday–Friday, typically 8:00–16:00. Responsibilities include individual functional capacity assessments, group facilitation, implementing individualized occupational therapy as part of a holistic treatment and rehabilitation plan, home visits, writing statements, and cooperation with clients’ families and networks. Work is conducted in wards as outpatient and outreach activity. You will work in collaboration within multidisciplinary teams in the unit. Experience with eating disorders and/or youth or adult psychiatry is advantageous. Swedish-speaking patients are treated in the units. The appointee is expected to seek and apply evidence-based occupational therapy methods and to be motivated to develop approaches compatible with the unit. Good communication skills and the ability for independent, self-directed work are required. Support is provided by the unit’s multidisciplinary team, supervisor, and supervising occupational therapist.
