Early Childhood Teacher

The position is for a preschool teacher in a group of 3–5 year olds at Aurinkokiven päiväkoti in Vantaa. Responsibilities include creating the group’s learning culture and environment, planning pedagogical activities, implementing, developing and evaluating them in collaboration with other staff in accordance with the Vantaa early childhood education and pre-primary education plan and the unit’s operating plan. We value good teamwork and interpersonal skills, ability to recognize each child’s individual needs, and working multi-professionally. The role involves observing each child’s strengths, supporting them, and fostering warm relations with children and parents. The unit uses the ProVaka model for developing children's social skills, and you commit to working according to its principles with the unit staff. There are clear leadership structures; you may participate in unit management discussions. An additional specialist teacher for comprehensive support will assist in matters related to child support. The preschool is located in Kivistö with good transport connections; five groups operate there, plus an open meeting place and club activities. The service center houses a school, student welfare, maternity and child health clinics, a music school, and an art school. Qualifications: good written and oral Finnish. Interested?
