The youth services of the City of Rovaniemi are seeking an outreach youth worker for a permanent position. Outreach youth work provides individual support in accordance with the Youth Act for young people aged 15-28 who need help clarifying their life situation, making plans, or connecting to services. The goal of the work is to reach young people who have fallen outside of education and employment and guide them toward support forms and services that meet their needs. Outreach youth work strengthens the growth, independence, and social inclusion of young people, ensuring that no one is left alone. We are looking for a professional who meets young people individually and recognizes their strengths. The work emphasizes building trust, supporting everyday life, and strengthening inclusion. The position requires good interaction skills, perseverance, and the ability to meet young people in various life situations; expertise in guidance and service orientation is also important. We value experience working with youth, network cooperation, and knowledge of the service system. The work includes individual guidance for youth, small group activities, outreach work, and multidisciplinary network cooperation. The outreach youth worker operates as part of the targeted youth work team, and the work is mobile and occasionally includes evening and weekend work. The position requires the possibility of using one's own car. A six-month probationary period applies to the position. Sufficient work experience working with youth is considered an advantage. Work begins on September 21, 2026. Salary and other terms of employment are determined in accordance with KVTES. The person selected for the position must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Act 504/2002 (Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children) and the result of a drug test before starting work.
